Description +

Most cat harnesses are dog harnesses in disguise — smaller size, same bad fit, same escape risk. The ACH was built differently.

I spent 5+ years hiking, camping and backpacking with my cat and learned exactly where every other harness fails. Too loose. Too rigid. Too complicated to even put on. Sound familiar?

So I built something better.

A step-in design with multiple adjustment points creates a secure, custom fit for your cat’s body — without the stress of going over their head. It’s lightweight, breathable, and can handle cement rolls, dirt rolls and tree climbs. The reflective strips add visibility for early mornings, night walks and camping trips. Comes with a 10-foot leash you can wear or use a million different ways.

I didn’t set out to make something “good enough.” I needed gear I could trust with my own cat on real trips—30 miles, multiple days, middle-of-nowhere kind of adventures.

This isn’t a repurposed dog harness marketed to cats. It’s a cat harness built for adventure cats. Tested on 1,000+ trail miles. Zero escapes to date.

Size & Fit +

Getting the fit right is everything. A harness that's too loose is an escape waiting to happen. Here's how to get it right.

How to measure: Measure the largest part of your cat's chest — around the rib cage, just behind their front legs. Or don’t overthink it and go by weight. It works 99% of the time. The remaining 1% is just me being technically responsible.

Fit check: Once the harness is on, you should be able to fit one to two fingers between the harness and your cat's body. Snug but comfortable. Your cat should move freely — the harness should not.

When in doubt, size down. A slightly snug fit is safer than a loose one. And if you get it wrong, I'll make it right — see the exchange policy below. See the size chart below for exact measurements.

FAQs +

Is it actually escape-proof?

Short answer: as close as it gets. The ACH is designed to make escaping virtually impossible when properly fitted. It’s built for the feline body—how cats move, stretch and attempt their famous Houdini maneuvers. Tested on cats 1–20 lbs across 1,000+ trail miles with zero escapes. My own cat has worn it for years on hikes, backpacking trips and van life without ever escaping. That said, even the best harness can’t replace proper training. Confident adventure cats come from gradual exposure, patience and repetition.

Can kittens wear this?

Yes! One of the main reasons I created this harness was to help kittens start harness training as early as possible. Most harnesses on the market labeled “extra small” are still built for cats around 8 lbs—not true kittens. The ACH was designed to fit kittens as small as 1 lb and as young as 5 weeks. I’ve tested it on several kittens from 1–1.5 lbs, and while it fully covered their tiny bodies, it worked exactly as intended: safe, secure and no slipping out.

Is this actually built for hiking or just casual walks?

Both — and that's the point. The ACH was designed for real outdoor use: hiking, camping, backpacking, van life, road trips. It's also great for everyday walks, vet trips and backyard adventures. Built for the backcountry, trusted for everything else.

How long does it take to train a cat to wear a harness?

Every cat is different, and there’s no perfect timeline. Most cats become comfortable in a harness in about 7 days, but some take longer—and that’s completely normal. What matters more than speed is consistency. Check out my free 7-day harness training guide.

Does it fit small dogs?

Honestly? I have no idea. It was designed for cats and tested on cats. If your small dog happens to be shaped like a cat, let me know how it goes.
